Happy 14th Birthday Adriauna

Adriauna turned 14 on January 8th.........WHAT!? After typing this out, it seems so unreal to me. I can't believe my first born is already 14. I don't know where all the time went but I sometimes I wish she was 3 again jumping in my arms and giving me hugs and kisses, sitting on my lap and having me read her books, and just needing me for pretty much everything. She was such a good little girl, always listening and never getting into trouble. I think God knew that I would need an Angel in my life and he gave me Adriauna. I am tearing up as I am typing this out thinking what a blessing Adriauna is in my life and how much we have been through together. She is an amazing young lady, true to herself and as sweet as they come. She has an amazing heart and her nose is always in a book and when it is not, she sure loves her video games which I personally cannot understand why. But, this is Adriauna, she is an individual unlike anyone else. She is not the typical teenager who is into hair makeup and what is "cool" to everyone else. She is not into following the crowd or wearing what all the the other girls are wearing. She is modest in her clothes and was like that since well, forever. I am so proud to be her mother. Adriauna has always been an introvert in the way where she gets her energy from spending time alone reading or playing the piano. However, she does love to get together with her friends to be silly and giggly and I happen to know that she has definitely had a few crushes that I have been lucky enough that she has told me about. Although asked out plenty of times, she has turned down a some boys at school. She tells them she does not date until she is 16. Then she tells me later, that she wanted to say yes. I am the luckiest Mom in the world to have been blessed with such an amazing daughter to bring me so much joy and love!

On to her birthday......We celebrated on her actual birthday by going to her requested Davanni's restaurant and got her favorite deep dish pizza (not my favorite but then again, not my birthday) by her request of course. Then came home and put the little ones to bed and had some dessert; chocolate cherry cordial ice cream by bluebunny(Mike, Adriauna and my favorite) by her request again of course.

We had a family party for her as well at our house that weekend. She opened many presents and had lots of family and some friends show all our love by celebrating with her! (pictures to follow)

Adriauna and her jelly and money from Nana and Papa. ( It is a tradition for my Dad to give out a jar of his home made jelly to the birthday boy or girl and my Mom gives out a dollar for every year old that you are turning along with a day to spend shopping, movie, or eating as you request with her)

Christmas of our own!

Christmas is always such a busy time for our family. This last Christmas Mike and I decided that we would make an big effort to have some special family time and enjoy the true meaning of Christmas. We decided to set up the little people nativity and have the kids sit down to read the story of the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ before we opened our presents. As you can imagine, this did take some effort on Mike and I and the kids part as well. I am so very happy that we did this and the kids sat so attentively and listened happily to the Story. This will be a tradition in our home in which we hope our children will also carry on with their children.

Adriauna poses with her gift card to Barnes in Noble to purchase the Nook (they were sold out so a gift card and picture would have to do)

Bean Family Christmas 2010

My brother Kell hosts Christmas on CHristmas Eve at his house. We all got together for some amazing prime rib and lots of sides. We had a great time visiting with my little sister Kristal who came home from Washington to spend the holiday with family. The kids got spoiled with great gifts and lots of love!

Adriauna opening her lap top from Uncle Kell (see cousin Alexa's face of envy) little did she know that she was going to be opening a lap top from Kell as well.

Christmas cookies at Nana's 2010

Every year my Mom has all the Grandkids over to decorate Christmas cookies with her. They usually do Gingerbread boys and girls and play hospital, breaking off limbs and putting them through surgery using frosting to put them back together. It is quite hilarious actually!

Snow Fun!

We have had so much snow this winter already! I am all snowed out personally but the kids at least have so much fun when they get a chance to go out and play in it. Unfortunately, it takes longer to get them all ready then the amount of time they are out playing in it. Brooke even got to enjoy playing out in the snow for a while. She sure was not a happy camper when it was time to come in though.

Christmas Tree!

Well, I have finally got around to making time to update the blog. Here are some pictures of the kids putting their ornaments on the tree from back in November 2010! Every year, we take the kids to the store to pick out an ornament that they can put on the tree. It is really fun to see what they choose.
